Another great rock oolong from the cliffs of Wu Yi Shan!  This Fo Shou, or Buddhas Hand, varietal has especially large leaves that accentuate the earthy, minerality of Wu Yi Shan’s natural terrior.  Slightly less oxidized and less sweet than its rock tea cousin, Da Hong Pao, this Fo Shou is nicely balanced between a medium roast, lighter than expected oxidation, stone fruit aromas, and natural mineral finish.  A great tea to accompany classic literature.

Fo Shou Oolong, or Buddha’s Hand, is a unique large leaf oolong tea varietal.  The unusually large, thick leaves are withered and rolled until a perfect medium-level of oxidation is attained.  Then the leaves are dried and given a light roast to help bring out natural aromas.  The aroma is light an earthy with hints of fresh peach.  The flavor is smooth and well rounded with a mineral character and a slight herbal aftertaste.  A great tea for drinking near a rocky ledge.
