Golden Monkey

One of the more famous black teas of China, Golden Monkey (Jin Hou) is a classic black tea from Fujian.  Named for the curled golden buds thought to resemble monkey paws, this bold black tea, produced right outside of Fuding, has a perfect balance of soft, golden buds and full flavored leaves.  Brewing a deep dark color, this tea has a mellow, slightly floral aroma and a soft earthy flavor with hints of mushroom and an herbal, slight bitter finish.  A tea that’s somehow calming and invigorating at the same time.
