Wu Yi Fo Shou

Another great rock oolong from the cliffs of Wu Yi Shan! This Fo Shou, or Buddhas Hand, varietal has especially large leaves that accentuate the earthy, minerality of Wu Yi Shan’s natural terrior. Slightly less oxidized and less sweet than its rock tea cousin, Da Hong Pao, this Fo Shou is nicely balanced between a medium roast, lighter than expected oxidation, stone fruit aromas, and natural mineral finish. A great tea to accompany classic literature.

Ben Shan

A bold and flavorful roasted oolong tea from Anxi in Fujian, China. Tightly rolled leaves with a heavy level of roast and oxidation make for a powerful oolong tea. This tea brews with a strong roasted aroma and complex, sweet flavor. Deep molasses, honey, and spice flavor with a hint of floral perfume. A great tea for starting a long day.

Fo Shou

Fo Shou Oolong, or Buddha’s Hand, is a unique large leaf oolong tea varietal. The unusually large, thick leaves are withered and rolled until a perfect medium-level of oxidation is attained. Then the leaves are dried and given a light roast to help bring out natural aromas. The aroma is light an earthy with hints of fresh peach. The flavor is smooth and well rounded with a mineral character and a slight herbal aftertaste. A great tea for drinking near a rocky ledge.

Pinglin Shui Xian

This is a wonderful, rolled shui xian oolong tea from Northern Taiwan. Originating from the Wuyi mountains of China, Shui Xian, literally narcissus or water nymph, is a popular Chinese oolong varietal. This version, grown in the northern Taiwan town of Pinglin, is rolled in the Taiwanese style instead of left long and twisted like the Chinese version. The tea brews a rich mahagony color with light sweet and roasted aromas. Earthy flavors of slate and charcoal mix with sweet flavors of brown sugar and apricot before giving way to a clean finish that begs for more.

Li Shan

A classic Taiwanese high mountain oolong tea from the famous Pear Mountain (Li Shan) region of central Taiwan. Grown at around 2000 meters beside Tianchi Lake, these tightly rolled, vibrant, jade green leaves brew a thick and rich liquor with sweet, high mountain creaminess. Strong floral aromas and pungent, sweet vegetable flavors give way to long lasting Hui Gan (classic Chinese term for the lasting after taste in the back of the throat accompanied by a pleasant cooling sensation). Best brewed gong fu, this tea is suited for infusion after infusion for wave after wave of high mountain goodness. A great tea for drinking on a mountain peak.

A medium roast Tie Guan Yin from the traditional oolong town of Pinglin in northern Taiwan. Tightly rolled and expertly roasted, this Tie Guan Yin is complex and satisfying. Roasted chestnuts, sweet floral nectar, and damp earth make up the mosaic of aromas that give way to a smooth flavor and lingering, slightly herbal finish. A tea that keeps you coming back for more!

This wonderful Bao Zhong was harvested in 2010 and carefully aged in Pinglin, Taiwan until 2018. It has since continued to age gracefully in Vermont, USA. The typical floral green character of Bao Zhong has mellowed and given way for an earthier body and complex aged tea aroma with hints of temple incense and a slight herbal finish. Great for drinking now or aging further!

This Bai Hao, meaning White Hair, oolong tea is a beautiful example of Dong Fang Mei Ren tea production. Dong Fang Mei Ren, or Eastern Beauty, is a type of tea created with the help of a special leaf hopper insect. This leaf hopper feeds on the tea plant causing the plants internal chemistry to change, creating a totally unique flavor in the leaf. This Bai Hao is beautifully rolled with curly leaves and large, fuzzy white buds. The tea brews a wonderful golden amber color and has a savory sweet flavor. Hints of cinnamon and allspice balance with a sweet honey flavor and aromas of roasted chestnuts.

Bao Zhong

This is a wonderfully light, fresh, and refreshing oolong tea from Northern Taiwan. This harvest is especially delicious. Grown on a family farm in Pinglin, this lightly twisted oolong tea brews up a crystal pale green color liquor with an amazingly captivating aroma. The smell of fresh flowers, damp soil, and fresh rain dominate the cup. The flavor is buttery smooth and mellow, but still full and powerful. A perfect tea to sip while dreaming of a tropical garden.

This is a fantastic, aromatic high mountain oolong tea from the famous Ali Shan region of Taiwan. This tea was grown on the steep slopes of Taiwan’s central mountain range just outside of Ruifeng near the famous Ali Shan Recreation Area. Harvested at 1,500 meters above sea level and given a delicate, light roast, this tea has a crisp, clean, and smooth flavor with hints of pine, floral honey, and sweet roasted nuts. A beautiful tea for an afternoon rain shower.
