2012 Xiaguan Raw Tuo Cha

A nicely aged 2012 Xiaguan Raw Tuo Cha for a perfectly mellow raw Pu’er experience. Produced from high quality large leaf material in the esteemed Xiaguan factory, famous for its raw tuo chas (nest shape pu’ers), outside Dali City in Yunnan, China. This raw pu’er is fairly smooth and sweet for a raw tuo cha, but it still retains some of its raw strength. Sweet sugarcane and damp forest notes give way to a slow building bitter finish and a slightly floral and herbal aftertaste.

Ripe Pu’er Stuffed Tangerine

These ripe pu’er stuffed tangerines are a fun and delicious treat to jazz up your everyday tea drinking! 2016 Menghai material was masterfully processed into classic loose leaf ripe pu’er and then carefully packed into a hollowed out tangerine before curing in Yunnan for several months. The result is a smooth and spicey flavor with a touch of sweet fruitiness. The tea can be removed from the tangerine to be brewed or, alternatively, the rind can be broken up and added to the brew for more tangerine flavor.

Each tangerine is approximately 25g, or just under 1oz.

2012 Bamboo Wrapped Raw Pu’er

This 2012 bamboo wrapped raw pu’er is a nicely aged and wonderfully complex example of quality raw pu’er. Pressed by the famous Menghai Tea Factory in Yunnan, China’s Xishuangbanna autonomous region, from a blend of 1-2 year old raw material and then wrapped in bamboo bark for further aging. The dry leaves have the unmistakable sweet and woody aroma of the bamboo wrapper. The brewed tea gives a more fermented, sour aroma with a touch of floral jungle. The flavor of the tea is strong and herbal, yet still smooth with complex notes of sandalwood, mint, and cut cedar. A tea to simultaneously bring you back to the jungle and make you contemplate the future.

Da Xue Shan

This high grown Chinese black tea from Yunnan’s Lincang region is an excellent everyday drinking black tea. Grown in the village of Mengku in the shadows of Big Snow Mountain (Da Xue Shan), this wirey black tea has an equal amount of golden buds and dark black leaves. The balanced one bud to one leaf picking gives this tea strength and subtlety. Earthy and bold, this tea brews dark, yet clean with bitter chocolate flavors, malty sweetness, and a dry finish. Great for an early morning breakfast.

Simao Pure Bud

This is an amazing autumn harvest, 100% pure bud, Chinese black tea from the Simao region of Yunnan. These large new bud sprouts are hand picked and expertly processed into a fluffy, delicate black tea with a sublimely complex flavor. Brewing a clear orange brown color, the pure bud pick gives this tea a soft and smooth flavor. Sweet, subtle fruit aromas give way to earthy pine nut flavors and a lingering chocolate finish. A wonderful black tea to sip when you’re feeling decadent.

This 2011 raw pu’er is just now coming into its own. Made from Nannuo Shan old tree material harvested in 2010 and pressed in 2011, this is a very pleasing and drinkable raw pu’er. The beautiful, large leaves have darkened over the 5 years since they were pressed and the flavors are wonderfully smooth and mellow. This tea has lost much of its intense raw character. The infusions are relatively light bodied and silky smooth, and each infusion brings out more and more sweetness. Aromas of damp flowers and mild smoke give way to subtle flavors of peach and apricot. This tea will continue to age nicely, but is great for drinking right now. This is a generic, non-branded pu’er, so whole cakes will be shipped without wrappers.

This is a great ripe pu’er from the famous Menghai Tea Factory. The classic, nest shaped, V93 recipe and the smooth, easy flavor makes this ripe pu’er a perfect choice for both seasoned pu’er drinkers and curious new comers. The Menghai factory where this tea was produced was one of the first to master ripe pu’er processing, and it is still one of the best. This tea is smooth and clean with very little fermented flavor and a nice, medium bodied mouth feel. The flavor is slightly sweet and biscuity with notes of malt and dark chocolate. This 2015 batch is great for drinking immediately and will only improve with age.

Cha Tou is a special type of Pu’er tea made from the chunks of leaf material left at the bottom of a fermenting pile during the processing of ripe Pu’er. The wet, fermenting leaves at the bottom of the pile stick to each other and the factory floor to create these wonderful Pu’er nuggets. These nuggets will slowly open when brewed to give many, many infusions. The first few infusions are lighter and sweeter, but as the nuggets break apart, the liquor gets thicker and stronger. This 2013 batch from the Yong De region of Yunnan has strong fermented flavor and is especially sweet with notes of red berries and fresh bread.

A wonderfully approachable and satisfying Golden Needle tea that is both delicate and rich. Harvested exclusively from the long, delicate buds that emerge throughout the hillsides of Feng Qing during the new spring season. These delicate, fuzzy buds are oxidized to an even golden, yellow color and brew up a deep orange tea with a rich nutty aroma. This tea has a thick, creamy feel that coats the mouth with a strong flavor of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and a lingering honey aftertaste. A smooth, bold tea that will leave you wanting one more cup.
